Security Manager

Job Description:

Acts as the primary point of escalation for Greyhound security issues and keeps Greyhound management fully informed.  Assists in enabling Greyhound’s product, services and geographic growth.  Liaise and coordinate with other partner functions including Internal Audit, Critical Compliance, Safety and HR. Serve as the approver and coordination of all security services at all GLI location.

Role Responsibilities:

• Escalates investigative issues and/or issues requiring TSA/DHS notification, partnership, reporting and may be involved with their resolution.
• Develops and supports Greyhound security initiatives in entry into any market
• Corporate representative with government security and/or investigative functions including Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Border and Customs Patrol, etc.
• Thoroughly understands Greyhound’s business and risk profile. May lead or provide advice on major security initiatives that could impact Greyhound’s business operations.
• Manages the processing and prioritization of work effectively minimizing financial exposure. Escalates financial differences in a timely manner.
• Develops and delivers security projects in accordance with agreed upon deliverables. Translates assigned projects into actionable plans with deliverables, milestones and measurements.
• Identifies and drives process improvement within assigned area of responsibility. Brings any issues jeopardizing optimal performance to the attention of appropriate personnel.
• Interfaces with all levels within Greyhound and senior levels outside of Greyhound. May have direct contact with passengers, agents, vendors or law enforcement authorities.
• Establishes relationships with Greyhound management and advises on security issues. Builds business partnerships and understands business unit needs, products, services and relationships between business functions.
• Produces and/or assigns work in accordance with security risk objectives. Prioritizes and balances personal assignments against work delivery time frames.
• Understands and effectively escalates issues jeopardizing the control environment or Greyhound’s ability to meet its products and service obligations.
• Creates operational risk assessments for field evaluation and implementation
• Provides guidance to Regional Safety Managers and field for compliance with company standards, SOPs, and policies.

Projects and duties as assigned:

1. Manages and oversee guard services internationally.
2. Provides guidance and advice to Executive Management
3. Partners with legal to minimize liability to Greyhound and its employees.
4. Selection, approval, and monitoring of security vendor contracts
5. Create security audit methodology, process and procedures and security vendors contract compliance.
6. Create, implement, and oversee security policies, procedures and practices through technology, cameras systems, analytics customer/employee screening and access control.
7. Internal Investigations to include fraud, internal criminal activity, workplace violence, and sexual harassment.
8. Oversee internal risk assessment/auditing of all operations in North America
9. Prepare and present Monthly /Yearly Security Briefings and recommendations to Executive Management
10. Designated Security Subject matter expert for Company Security Litigation, to include Federal, State, and local litigation.
11. Obtain DHS/TSA grant funding and oversee project management of federally funded projects.
12. Gather and analyzing analytical data /trends data for developing critical guidance to Executive Management
13. Develop Statement of Works, Security Manuals, and Security Training for all Greyhound Employees in North America to include mandatory TSA training for all employees
14. Liaison with International, Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies for the following:
    • Suspected Terrorism subjects
    • Fugitive Recovery
    • Human Trafficking/Child Recovery and Exploitation
    • Narcotics Trafficking
    • Weapons Trafficking
