This position is responsible for managing union represented employee attendance, producing reports and providing support to the Labor Relations team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist company management with questions and contract interpretation related to attendance in the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
  • Distributes department reports or provides feedback on other department reports regarding union represented employees to Company management
  • Prepare special reports as requested by various departments and union officers
  • Provide support to HR Managers regarding managing attendance of union represented employees
  • Track and notify union represented employees to obtain required documentation and answer questions related to employment status per the collective bargaining agreements
  • Review and update systems with the appropriate employment status for union represented employees and/or verify statuses are accurate in all systems, including but not limited to DriverPay, BOSS and ADP
  • Manage the administrative discharge process of union represented employees exceeding the extended leave limits per company policy and/or the collective bargaining agreements
  • Work with RISK and/or other departments in the discharge process of union represented employees
  • Works with Labor Relations staff, union represented employees and company management to assist with data collection, investigation of issues and evaluation of proper employment status
  • Work with copy room/mail center for distribution of documents/materials via USPS, UPS or other mailing options
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School diploma required
  • Experience with collective bargaining agreements preferred.
  • 6 months experience with Greyhound or in a labor/industrial relations industry and/or general business
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook experience required
  • Experience in HR/Payroll systems such as ADP preferred
  • GLI Operations Systems (BOSS, DriverPay) preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exercise considerable diplomacy, judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships and discretion with employees and Company officials
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written and exercise active listening skills
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Capable of analyzing data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action
  • Must be able work and communicate at both a detailed and overview level
  • Ability to work necessary hours to facilitate completion of tasks or projects
